We often hear that March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb. One day we face cold winds and gray skies, and the next we sense the promise of spring—longer days, warmer sunshine, and new life just beneath the surface. Seasons change, both in nature and in our lives.
Jesus: Mighty Lion, Gentle Lamb
Scripture gives us a picture that fits this time of year perfectly. Jesus is both the Lion and the Lamb. Revelation 5:5 calls Him “the Lion of the tribe of Judah,” victorious and strong. Yet Revelation 5:6 shows Him as “a Lamb as though it had been slain,” humble and full of sacrificial love. Our Savior is mighty and merciful—strong enough to overcome the world, yet tender enough to walk with us through every trial.
Hope After Hardship
If this winter has been hard—marked by challenges, loss, or weariness—take heart. Winter does not last forever. March reminds us that change is coming—and even more importantly, Easter is coming. After the darkness of the cross came the joy of the resurrection. Romans 8:11 reminds us that the same power that raised Christ from the dead is still at work today, bringing renewal, life, and hope.
